Libby and May were rescued in July during a mobile clinic in Ko Libong along with two other dogs. They had been brought to our vets by a very kind local lady who had been feeding them. We took them back to our centre for treatment and, if possible, adoption.
Despite being fed, these four pups were still street dogs and they had all picked up injuries, as well as a serious skin infection. Libby had injuries so extensive that one of her eyes had to be removed. To make matters worse, they were all very afraid of people.
Look at them now!
Good quality food and regular, special baths allowed all four to make a healthy recovery.
The next challenge was socialisation and we were relieved to see Libby
and May make gradual improvements. For the other two dogs, named Hovis and Crumpet, even the most basic interactions made them uneasy and they continued to shy away, and hide from people.
Thankfully, the lady from Ko Libong was happy to have them back. To ensure they stay in good health LAW is providing food, treatment and regular advice, as well as visits to check on their progress.
Libby and May are still with us and are up for adoption! They absolutely love attention and spend most of their days in our puppy pen, playing with the volunteers and visitors. They are improving everyday and even sit for their meals!
