Helping animals in neighbouring areas
We hold mass sterilisation and vaccination programmes on neighbouring islands and mainland areas, where there is no access to veterinary care. We also provide first aid to sick and injured animals in those regions.
Creating Lasting Change Through CNVR
Hundreds of thousands of free-roaming dogs and cats live across southern Thailand. Without access to veterinary care, many face hunger, disease, injury and abuse, while uncontrolled breeding creates an endless cycle of suffering. Communities also face growing concerns about rabies, dog bites and ever-increasing stray animal populations.
Rescuing individual animals changes lives, but lasting change requires preventing suffering before it begins.
The only proven, humane and sustainable solution is Catch–Neuter–Vaccinate–Return (CNVR). By preventing unwanted litters, improving the health of existing animals and protecting communities against rabies, CNVR creates lasting improvements for both animals and people.
Bringing Veterinary Care to Underserved Communities
Many of the communities we serve have little or no access to veterinary care. Our fully equipped mobile clinics travel to remote islands and mainland communities, delivering high-quality veterinary services directly to the animals that need them most.
Working alongside local authorities and community partners, our veterinary teams humanely catch, sterilise, vaccinate and treat free-roaming dogs and cats before returning healthy animals to the communities where they live.
Animals suffering from conditions such as TVT, severe skin disease, parasite infestations, infected wounds, fractures and other injuries also receive lifesaving treatment during our clinics.
A Regional Impact
Since launching our first mobile CNVR programme in 2013, Lanta Animal Welfare has grown into one of southern Thailand’s main providers of large-scale Catch–Neuter–Vaccinate–Return programmes.
Working in partnership with local governments, communities and international animal welfare organisations, our teams deliver high-volume, high-quality CNVR programmes across multiple provinces.
In 2025, we sterilised and vaccinated more than 10,000 dogs and cats. Every procedure prevents future generations of unwanted animals from being born into lives of hardship while improving the health and welfare of the animals already living in our communities.
By combining population management with disease prevention, veterinary treatment and community engagement, our programmes improve animal welfare, support public health and create sustainable solutions for managing free-roaming dog and cat populations.
