Hi, I’m Pickles! I’m 14 years old, and while my past is a mystery, my future is still wide open.
I’m a newbie compared to many of my rescue mates here. I’m a gentle soul from the inside and out.
I’ve been through allot during my life, but the kindness I show both humans and other animals including cats amazes all the staff here. I’ve heard also I’m a doppelganger of one of the long terms dogs named “Wayne” that was here before. Everybody loved him so much, he passed away of old age. Now I’ve taken his place.
I often help more nervous dogs feel braver on tours or in the dog areas because I show them there’s nothing to be afraid of, so I guess I have a kind of job here, just like Wayne had.
Well, while I may be a senior, I know I still have so much love to share! I dream of finding a home where I can spend my golden years surrounded by kindness. A place where I can relax, be loved, and maybe even help someone else feel braver—just like I do here. Do you think you could be the one to give me that chance?
I do have an old hip injury so I got something called Arthritis so I can’t do marathon walks or do allot of stairs all the time.
I do need regular shortish walks, to get my bowels working.
Since I’ve been attacked by other street dogs in my past I need a safe environment, in my golden years
I was rescued from the streets on the mainland. The team saw I had a big maggot wound in my behind.
After my maggot wound healed, the boys and girls at LAW decided I was just a bit too old to return to the streetdog life.
