Dog Training Intern Application Form
What You’ll Achieve
By the end of the course, you’ll be in a position to apply for and complete the following internationally recognised certification by the PPG:
- Canine Training Technician – Accredited (CTT-A)
Certification exams include:
- Online academic assessment
- Practical skill video submissions
- Onsite training and mentorship
We will provide the necessary support to help you take and pass these exams, as proven by past students. However, this requires your own personal commitment, so we do not guarantee your certification
Commitment
- Minimum stay: 4 months (extendable to 6 if required)
- Age requirement: 25+
- Hours: 5 days/week, 8 hours/day including lunch break (starting as early as 7:00 AM)
This role is physically and emotionally demanding. Expect long days in tropical heat, lots of walking, cleaning, training, and, yes, poop scooping. It’s not all cuddles and cuteness—but it is deeply rewarding.
Language & Learning
- Theory classes are in English, so fluency is essential.
- You’ll be working directly with over 100 rescued animals alongside a passionate, international team.
Fees & Accommodation
- Admin cost (visa, admin & exam fees): 27,000 THB one off cost
- Monthly education fee: 20,000 THB
- Onsite housing (optional): 10,000 THB/month (subject to availability)
- Deposit: Admin cost and 50% (46,000 THB) of education & housing fees are required to secure booking.
If you can follow through on your obligations to our animals, you will be in for one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences of your life. Please do not apply unless you understand the nature of the work involved as well as the commitment you are undertaking. If all that hasn’t put you off and you are still determined to join us, then you are probably just who we are looking for!
Important information for interns coming from the UK:
Lanta Animal Welfare and many animal rescue groups in Thailand need flight volunteers for animals that have been adopted to the UK, so if you haven’t booked your return flight yet please contact our Adoptions Manager at adoption@lantaanimalwelfare.com
Good airlines used to transport the animals to Europe are: SAS, KLM, Aeroflot, Condor, Thai airways, Finnair, Austrian Air, Lufthansa, Air France from Phuket to Brussels or Amsterdam, then animals can go onwards by train and boat from these two cities to the UK. We will help with all the practicalities. If possible, please contact us before you book your return flight. You would be helping tremendously by getting homeless animals to their new forever homes!
