Welttierschutzgesellschaft e.V. (WTG)
Since 2013, Welttierschutzgesellschaft e.V. (WTG) has been a dedicated partner of Lanta Animal Welfare, providing long-term support for our mobile CNVR (Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate and Return) programme. Together, we are working to improve the lives of dogs and cats across southern Thailand through sustainable veterinary care, education, and community engagement.
Thanks to WTG’s continued support, Lanta Animal Welfare has achieved:
- 9,005 dogs sterilised and vaccinated.
- 17,294 cats sterilised and vaccinated.
- The development of a dedicated and highly skilled mobile veterinary clinic team.
- An active school education programme, inspiring young people to become advocates for animal welfare.
- A Thai veterinary student internship programme, helping to train the next generation of veterinary professionals.
- Progress towards 70% sterilisation coverage in target communities, significantly reducing breeding potential among free-roaming dog and cat populations while enabling the expansion of our CNVR programme into neighbouring underserved regions.
- Improved welfare and access to veterinary care for thousands of owned and community animals.
- Increased community awareness of responsible pet ownership and the importance of sterilisation, resulting in greater participation in our programmes.
- Investment in essential veterinary equipment, including an anaesthetic machine, surgical kits, and an autoclave, allowing our team to provide safe, high-quality surgical care in the field.
WTG’s commitment extends far beyond funding. By investing in local expertise, education, and sustainable animal welfare programmes, they have helped Lanta Animal Welfare build a lasting legacy that continues to benefit both animals and the communities they live in.
